Mecca Bingo which tentatively opened 35 of their clubs on July 4th, has announced the latest set of bingo venue reopenings. 12 Mecca Bingo clubs are to reopen from this weekend.
Starting this Friday the 24th of July, we will see three Mecca Bingo clubs open.
Then, the following day on Saturday 25th July, we will see a further nine Mecca Bingo clubs reopen after a near five-month lockdown. The nine clubs opening on Saturday 5th July are
At this stage, it is not clear when the remainder of the Mecca Bingo venues will reopen or indeed if they will reopen at all.
Earlier this month before the Buzz Bingo closure announcement, Mecca's owners – the Rank Group PLC LON: RNK announced that 30 more Mecca clubs would see a staggered reopening from mid-July. The company said that the remaining 12 venues would remain closed until October while the company assessed their ongoing viability. This prompted speculation on Mecca Bingo Halls closing permanently.

Jonathon Swaine, Managing Director of Retail at Mecca Bingo, said: “We want to reassure the Mecca Bingo community that we are working together to take every precaution necessary to create a safe environment in which to play the nation’s favourite game. We’re also investing in new entertainment formats in our clubs, to give everyone even better experiences.
“We are excited to reopen our doors, welcome back our communities and hear ‘House’ called once again.”
BingoDaily has written to Mecca Bingo for comment on when the remaining mecha bingo halls are scheduled to reopen. At the time of publishing, we have not received a reply but will update as soon as we know more.
