Buzz Bingo Colchester’s Future in Discussion

Home » Buzz Bingo Colchester’s Future in Discussion

The future of Buzz Bingo Colchester is being discussed by Colchester Council who want to redevelop the city centre.

The popular bingo hall is housed in a building that is being earmarked for redevelopment by the local council.

A 91-page masterplan document submitted by the Council would see the NCP car park and ground floor Buzz Bingo hall “could come forward for mixed-use development”

In what would see a large-scale development of the building and surrounding area, concerns about including the bingo venue in the masterplan were put to the council’s cabinet members by the High Steward of Colchester, Sir Bob Russell.

According to local reports, Russell is understood to have asked why the council is “so anti-the bingo hall in Osborne Street,” making it known that Buzz Bingo Colchester has “more members than all the political parties in Colchester combined.”

With no decision made by the Council yet and discussions still underway, there is no suggestion of an immediate closure for Buzz Bingo Colchester.
