Monday, March 11th, will be a day that one lucky woman in Weymouth, on England's South Coast, will never forget. After more than a decade of steadfast loyalty to Leo Leisure bingo, it was the day she went home £50,000 richer.
The jubilant dabber who wishes to remain anonymous called ‘House' on the 16th number playing the ever-popular National Bingo Game.
Billy Gerrie, manager of Leo Leisure Weymouth, said of the win:
“The winner was one of our regular players, she has been coming here and playing bingo for over ten years.
“Myself and some of the staff were having jokes with her beforehand about that exact game, saying that one day she will win the £50k jackpot.
“It was a massive shock for her and for all of us and I doubt she has got over it yet.
“I have worked here on and off since 2010, when it was Buzz Bingo and Gala Bingo previously.
“It is the first time in over ten years I can ever remember the national jackpot being won.”

Win Leads to Uptick in Visitors
Mr Gerrie said word of the jackpot win has already resulted in an upsurge in new players trying to win it.
He said:
“After the win on Monday afternoon, we put it on Facebook, and we already had an uptake in new members by the evening session that day.
“We play two games a day and the national jackpot is up for grabs in every game.”
