Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced this week the reopening of much of Britain. However, UK Bingo halls will remain shut.
In a devastating blow to the UK bingo community, Bingo halls along with casinos, and betting shops will remain closed. This is despite most shops and indoor markets opening up in June. Bingo Halls join the government's list of closed venues which include restaurants, bars, pubs, cinemas, theatres, and concert halls., all of which will not reopen until at least the 4th July 2020.
Plans to Open Bingo Halls Underway
Whilst the bingo halls will remain closed for another month at least, it is clear that plans are afoot to open soon.
In a series of tweets, Beacon Bingo Northampton confirmed that preparations are underway to reopen.

At this stage, no dates have been offered but despite the initial disappointment of knowing no bingo halls visits for another five weeks at least, there is some light at the end of the tunnel it appears.
