source: pxsphere Within the last hour, two major bingo operators Beacon Bingo and BJ's Bingo have announced reopening dates. Meanwhile, with 36 Mecca Bingo Clubs about to reopen, there is still no news, official or unofficial about when Buzz Bingo clubs will reopen.
Beacon Bingo has confirmed to BingoDaily that Lowestoft, Cricklewood, And Northampton are reopening on Monday 6th July, and then, Redcar and Loughborough are reopening, with dates to be confirmed shortly.
For BJ's Bingo, they will be reopening from Saturday 4th July 2020 (Kitts Green) Monday 6th July (Leigh) and Thursday 9th July (Reading).
For fans at Beacon Bingo and BJ's Bingo, there will be some social distancing changes that will have to get used to. All bingo halls are running at around 25-30% of their seating capacity so dabbers will be strongly advised to book in advance. Other changes like groups limited to 4 persons, one way systems, and limited food options listed on the Beacon Bingo Northampton website appear to be the new norm in clubs. Mark Schertle, chief operating officer of Praesepe, which owns Beacon Bingo, said:
“Surveys were conducted with customers and it was reassuring to discover that so many of them are eager to get back to Beacon Bingo.
“We are excited to finally have some light at the end of the tunnel and are very much looking forward to reopening on July 6.
“This campaign will allow us to welcome staff and customers back and, although it will be different to before, we will be making things safe and comfortable so people can enjoy their visit.
“Many customers are just looking forward to getting out and about, and being able to access entertainment again.”
At BJ's Bingo, it is a similar story. To meet Social Distancing guidelines capacity will be greatly reduced, and bingo fans are invited to book a table for up to a maximum of four people.
As more and more UK bingo operators announce their phased reopenings and the restrictions that will be put in place, eyes are still on Buzz Bingo who are yet to announce when Buzz Bingo clubs will reopen. However, we hope to expect an announcement any day now, and will, of course, keep you updated as soon as we know.

Hi, please can you give us an update on whether or not you have any information on when you can possibly expect to reopen your clubs?. Also I have noticed that our points amount has been taken off our bjs app. So now it is reading zero. Does that mean that we have lost all those points we have managed to collect. Hey Babs, thanks for writing in. We will contact BJ’s to get clarification on the points. as to when the bingo halls will reopen… At bingodaily we dont think they will reopen until Mid-Feb at the earlier 🙁
