Work Progressing on Barrow Bingo Hall

Work is progressing and interest is building up as the opening of a new Bingo Hall in Barrow draws closer.

The new Opera Bingo being built on the site of the former Kwik Save on Holker Street, Barrow, has, according to bosses from the new Bingo venue, been inundated with interest. A stall was set up in Barrow market so prospective members could sign up and locals could quiz the owners about the intended bingo hall.

Work began on the former supermarket earlier this year. However, although no official opening date has been set, Opera Bingo is expected to open later this month following a June 7th reveal. The sign outside still says ‘Opening Soon'. However, the bingo venue has already been recruiting staff with approximately 25 new jobs expected to be created.

Daryl Davidson, the head of operations at Graves (Cumberland) Ltd, the company behind the development said:

“Our stall in the indoor market has been open a little while now and it's been going really well.

Lots of people have been coming to find us and we are doing well at signing up members

There seems to be a lot of interest.

The work is coming along really well.

The opening date would depend on when the contractors finish the work.”

Barrow's Other Bingo Hall

Opera Bingo already has three other bingo venues in Cumbria, whilst Barrow residents have one other place to dab. The Apollo Bingo venue in the Hollywood Retail park recently received planning permission from Barrow Borough Council to build a smoking shelter at the bingo venue.
