Charity fundraising, a guaranteed £250,000 jackpot, and special promotions headline the week-long celebration of bingo

National Bingo Week 2026 is officially underway after getting started yesterday (Monday 22 June), with bingo clubs across Great Britain hosting a week of special events, promotions and entertainment designed to celebrate one of the country's most enduring social pastimes.

Now in its sixth year,  after a very successful National Bingo Week 2025, the annual campaign sees licensed bingo operators come together to showcase the community spirit, affordability and entertainment value that have made bingo a staple of British leisure for generations.

The celebrations will continue until Sunday 28 June, culminating in a guaranteed £250,000 jackpot in participating National Bingo Game clubs.

Charity Games Set to Raise More Than £20,000

One of the standout events of the week will take place on Friday, 26 June, when UK bingo clubs host special charity games in aid of Variety – The Children's Charity.

MPs from across the country have been invited to attend local clubs and take part in the festivities, with many expected to try their hand at calling the numbers.

Organisers believe the charity initiative will raise more than £20,000, adding to the impressive total of more than £2 million already raised by the bingo industry for charitable causes since 2015.

The fundraising effort reflects the strong community focus long associated with Britain's bingo clubs, many of which actively support local causes throughout the year.

£250,000 Guaranteed Jackpot Awaits Players

Players also have the chance to win a life-changing sum during National Bingo Week.

On the evening of Sunday 28 June, a guaranteed £250,000 prize will be available to be won in participating National Bingo Game clubs, providing a fitting finale to the week's celebrations.

Alongside the headline jackpot, operators are running a variety of value sessions and exclusive offers throughout the week, with details available through individual club websites.

Brits Rediscovering the Joy of Real-Life Socialising

National Bingo Week arrives at a time when many people are looking to spend less time online and more time enjoying face-to-face experiences.

Research commissioned by The Bingo Association is expected to reveal growing interest in traditional social activities, with people increasingly seeking opportunities to switch off from screens and spend quality time together.

The trend is particularly noticeable among younger adults, many of whom are embracing nostalgic nights out and discovering bingo for the first time.

To support the campaign, social media influencers from across the UK are visiting local bingo clubs throughout the week, sharing their experiences and showcasing the atmosphere that has helped bingo attract new audiences in recent years.

Meanwhile, players can also enter a nationwide social media competition, with eight £500 prizes available to spend at participating bingo clubs.

The History of National Bingo Week

National Bingo Week was first launched by The Bingo Association in 2021 to celebrate the industry's contribution to communities across Great Britain.

The event was introduced following the challenges faced by bingo clubs during the Covid-19 pandemic and has since grown into an annual celebration involving operators from across the country.

While National Bingo Week itself is relatively new, the game has been a part of British culture for decades. Modern bingo halls became hugely popular during the 1960s and 1970s, evolving into important social venues where people could meet friends, enjoy affordable entertainment and become part of a wider community.

Today, the industry continues to attract players of all ages, combining traditional bingo sessions with modern entertainment, food and drink offerings, and digital innovations.

Industry Leader Welcomes Sixth National Celebration

Nicole Garrett, Chief Executive of The Bingo Association, said she was delighted to see the campaign return for another year.

“It’s fantastic to see National Bingo Week return for its sixth year. What started as an industry-wide moment has grown into a nationwide celebration of community, connection and great value entertainment.”

Garrett believes bingo's continued appeal reflects a growing desire for meaningful social interaction.

“As more people look to step away from screen time and reconnect through shared experiences, we’re seeing a real resurgence in nostalgic social activities – and bingo is right at the heart of that trend. From younger players discovering bingo for the first time to long-standing regulars enjoying a classic night out, bingo continues to bring generations together in a way few other leisure experiences can.”

With fundraising events, major prizes and clubs across Britain embracing the celebrations, National Bingo Week 2026 is already highlighting why bingo remains one of the UK's most popular and inclusive leisure activities.
