Whilst for many, Christmas 2020 will be one to forget. With bingo halls closed and lockdown restrictions in place, many of us were forced to settle for zoom office parties and zoom family calls. As part of a weekend of National Bingo Day celebrations, Mecca Bingo, one of the UK's biggest and best bingo brands, is to host Junemas on Friday 25th June. Held across all 72 Mecca venues, Junemas is a unique Christmas event as Mecca bids to reclaim last year’s missed festive celebration and bring some Christmas cheer to its bingo player. This will be followed by a summer filled with missed moment events throughout Mecca clubs.
Customers will get to enjoy Mecca’s very own Christmas traditions complete with full Christmas decorations, Christmas crackers, mince pies, Christmas cocktails and a best Christmas jumper competition. With secret Santa surprises set to everyone's favourite Christmas tunes, there will be an all-important bingo game in aid of children’s charity, Variety.
The Junemas celebrations were officially announced at Mecca Bingo in Dagenham, Essex this week, with the arrival of a Hawaiian-shirted Santa on a more Summery-than-normal sleigh.
Mecca's Junemas event kicks off a whole weekend full of excitement, as the UK’s first-ever National Bingo Day is on Sunday 27th June. This new, iconic day on the same day as the US National Bingo Day, celebrates all things bingo, online and in the bingo club world.
Plenty of Christmas Cheer to Be Had
On National Bingo Day there are two guaranteed £50k National Bingo Game jackpots up for grabs on National Bingo Day. Not only that, but everyone in the winning club will also win up to £100 each, so it really could be a very merry Christmas for a lot of lucky dabbers on National Bingo Day!
A spokesperson at Mecca said of the Junemas event:
“We are thrilled to host this special and exciting weekend of events, giving a chance to our customers to catch up on missed moments – Merry Christmas everyone! With the entire nation being in lockdown last Christmas, many did not get the chance to celebrate like they normally would, so we are determined to turn that into a nicer memory. And with National Bingo Day’s opportunity to win life-changing jackpots, we can’t help but imagine what our customer’s next Christmas could look like! ”
