Just 24 hours after Mecca Bingo Glasgow Forge reopened after a five-month lockdown, the popular bingo venue celebrated a National Bingo Game jackpot winner.

The life-changing sum of £50,000 was claimed by the 71-year-old much to the delight of his fellow dabbers.

The delighted winner who wishes to remain anonymous has been playing at Mecca Bingo for over a decade. However, this was his first big win.

“I was so happy when I realised I had won, it was very unexpected but absolutely brilliant.

“I have a lot of friends at the club after playing for 10 years, so I had so many people to celebrate with as I usually go to Mecca alone.

“I had only ever won £700 before this!”

The jackpot winner has yet to decide what to do with his winnings. However, he plans to treat his wife as he celebrates the win.

Paul McGlinchey, General Manager at Mecca Glasgow Forge said of the win:

“It’s always a fantastic moment when someone calls house on the National Bingo Game, but even better knowing it’s so soon after we welcomed our customers back.

“We’re absolutely thrilled for the winner, who is a much-loved regular customer.

“£50,000 is an incredible prize amount and we’re delighted.”

“We are thrilled for the lucky National Bingo Game £50,000 winner at Mecca Glasgow Forge, and hope that he enjoys the winnings. It just goes to show that you can win big at bingo!”
