Whilst much of the country gears up for a second lockdown, Mecca Bingo is bringing some bingo sunshine to the residents of Southport with the long-awaited reopening of the Mecca Bingo Southport branch.

Having been closed since March by its owners the Rank Group when the UK entered a lockdown, it has been a frustrating wait for bingo fans in Southport. With most of the country's bingo halls opening up in July and August, some Mecca Bingo venues were left in limbo, as strict coronavirus measures meant some buildings needing structural changes in order to comply and open.

Now, as part of its phased reopening, Mecca Bingo will reopen on Wednesday the 28th of October.

Jonathon Swaine, Managing Director of Retail at Mecca Bingo, said:

“We want to reassure the Mecca Bingo community in Southport that we are working together to take every precaution necessary to create a safe environment in which to play the nation’s favourite game, and are always monitoring the latest Government guidance.

“We are excited to reopen our doors, welcome back our communities and hear ‘House’ called once again.”
