In a sign of the times, Mecca Bingo has now entered the beauty market with the launch of its very own limited edition fake tan – Mecca Binglow. Launched a few weeks ago by TOWIE star and tan fan Pete Wicks at Mecca’s state-of-the-art Luton venue, the ‘tried and tested tanning mousse comes in one sun-kissed hue and its silky mousse texture promises to leave tan lovers with a flawless faux glow this summer.'
Ahead of the launch, Mecca commissioned research to reveal the UK’s biggest fake tan fails. The research from the UK bingo operator found that orange hands were the most common embarrassing error, experienced by half of Brits (50%), with patchy knees and legs following closely behind at 47%. Meanwhile, 14% of Brits even admitted to seeing their skin turn green after using out-of-date tanning lotion!
The survey also found that a third of Brits (30%) opt to tan at 9am on the same day that they go away.
Pete Wicks said: “It’s no secret that I like to stay bronzed, especially before heading off on holiday, and now I’ll be keeping my bottle of Mecca Binglow handy for top-ups. There’s a real knack to tanning, so my advice is to make sure you exfoliate first, get your tanning mitt ready and then smooth it all out evenly – a patchy tan is a nightmare to fix!”
Carol Rhead, Head of Marketing, Venues at Mecca Bingo, said: “It’s a huge week for holidays, so we wanted to offer something special for anybody heading off to the sun. What could be better than applying a glowing tan and then playing a game of bingo while you wait for it to develop? Our survey found that Brits think Donald Trump has the most iconic tan, but it’s safe to say that Mecca Binglow will leave tanners with a slightly more ‘natural’ look!”
