Casino operator Genesis Global Limited, who runs many popular online casino sites such as Casino Planet, have had their UK gambling licence suspended by the Gambling Commission effective immediately.

Genesis Global operates 12 online casinos in the UK which have been affected. Here's a full list of the sites that have now been closed:

  • Casino Cruise
  • Casino Gods
  • Casino Joy
  • Casino Planet
  • Casoola
  • Genesis Casino
  • Kassu
  • Pela
  • Sloty
  • Spela
  • Spin It
  • Vegas Hero

The UKGC hasn't given a specific reason for their actions, but have said:

We suspect that Genesis Global Limited has breached a condition of the licence (section 116(2)(a) of the Act)) and is unsuitable to carry on the licensed activities (section 116(2)(c)(i)) of the Act). We therefore consider it appropriate to suspend the licence with immediate effect pending the conclusion of the review.

The licence suspension, effective from 20 July 2020, makes it illegal for Genesis Global Limited to offer gambling services via the following websites in Great Britain

Currently, they have suspended all real event betting, virtual betting, and casinos operated by Genesis Global while their investigation is underway.

UK customers at these casinos are advised not to place any bets at the closed casino sites until a full review has taken place.

If you're a customer at any of these websites, the UKGC advise that you contact the operator directly through their website if you have any questions or concerns regarding funds in your casino account.
