In fact, it was on opening day on Monday, May 17th that one lucky winner, took home the £50,000 jackpot at Buzz Bingo Gateshead, just hours after it reopened following a five month forced closure.
The happy dabber from Gateshead, who wishes to remain anonymous, was one of three players at Buzz Bingo venues to win the £50,000 jackpot in the reopening week, which saw a further £400,000 paid out throughout the UK.
The jackpot winner at Buzz Bingo Gateshead had been a regular for many years at the club, which used to be a Gala Bingo. In 2018, the club rebranded as Buzz Bingo with two £50,000 jackpot winners in the months preceeding the rebrand. Since becoming a Buzz Bingo, the popular bingo venue in the Metro Centre has now celebrated three more jackpot winners on the National Bingo game. The last jackpot win at the Buzz Bingo Gateshead was in August 2020 before the latest lockdown.

The jubilent winner was roundly cheered by other dabbers when she called ‘house' and now she wants to share her good fortune with her best friend, with a holiday to Las Vegas when travel restrictions are eased and it is safer to travel internationally again.
