For the third consecutive year, two bingo fans at Beacon Bingo Cricklewood in North London, one of the UK's most famous bingo halls, helped raise hundreds of pounds for the charity Macmillan Cancer Support.
Jackie Campbell and Annette Willis, who have both lost family members to cancer, hosted the Macmillan Day for the third year running and with the help of Beacon Bingo, raised over £300.
The pair set up a stall with delicious food items for sale with tasty contributions from Beacon Bingo member Violet Weekes and friends Lynne Jones and Mary Prince.
Beacon Bingo management donated prizes for a raffle in the evening which raised £65 taking the total raised for the day beyond £300.
Jackie Campbell said of the event:
“It was a lovely day, Long hours shopping for ingredients, preparation, cooking and baking, presentation and selling, all for a great cause, raised £246.80.”
This is not the first time that Beacon Bingo Cricklewood has featured in the UK bingo news. Earlier this year a bingo fan from Mansfield set a world record at the North London Bingo hall for the number of consecutive bingo games played.
