Whilst news filters through of some bingo halls closing and others awaiting their fate, (Just today, we reported that Beacon Bingo Redcar could be closed for good.)BingoDaily has some good bingo news to report.
Buzz Bingo Birmingham Great Park has been saved and looks set to reopen its doors when Bingo halls are set to reopen in England on May 17th.
In January, we covered the news that plans were submitted to Birmingham City Council for permission to change the use of the Buzz Bingo in Rubery into a gymnasium.
Now, according to a Facebook post, the management at Buzz Bingo in Great Park has announced that despite the planning application being received to change the popular bingo venue into a gymnastics centre, the company has managed to negotiate a new lease with the property owners, saying:
“WE ARE NOT MOVING, WE ARE STAYING PUT!”
The post read:
The news that Buzz Bingo Great Park will reopen its doors again in May will come as a welcome relief to both staff and customers of the popular bingo venue after it looked more than likely that the bingo club will close for good.
This is not the first time that a Buzz Bingo club has been saved from closure. Last year, Buzz Bingo Carlisle was one of the 26 Buzz Bingo clubs scheduled for closure. However, after a surprise reprieval, Buzz Bingo Carlisle reopened on October 1st.
Let's hope we see more good news on bingo halls reopening.
