Buzz Bingo Clubs in Tier 2 Opening Today – Full List

Buzz Bingo, the UK's largest bingo operator, confirmed that 31 of its clubs in Tier 2 will be joining its bingo clubs in Tier 1, in opening today (Wednesday 2nd December).

Peter Brigden, Chief Retail Officer at Buzz Bingo, said:

“After being closed for the last month, we are delighted to welcome back our customers and reopen our club doors in line with government guidance. The club is at the heart of the community and offers a friendly environment for households to enjoy a game of bingo.”

“We want to reassure customers that their health and safety is our number one priority. During the first lockdown we spent time ensuring that our clubs are fully prepared and set up to ensure staff and customers can return safely so we are employing the same procedures this time around too.

“Our colleagues are looking forward to going back and being reunited with regular players – as well as new players who might want to try something new!”

The welcome bingo news came just a day after a number of Welsh bingo halls have been closed due to an increase in the infection rate in the region.

Measures in Place in Bingo Clubs

As expected, there are a number of safety measures in place to keep customers and staff safe. These include:

• Introducing a new maximum capacity to allow for social distancing
• All clubs will now have markers on the floor, both inside and outside, to keep customers safe while queueing
• Perspex screens have been installed at the reception, bar and bingo sales, as well as between machines and fixed gaming terminals so that players and colleagues are able to maintain social distancing
• Some seats will be marked as ‘out of use’ to keep players safely distanced – there will be ‘group’ and individual seating areas to allow families and ‘one household’ to play together
• All colleagues across the clubs will be in line with COVID Secure risk assessments and a new and more frequent cleaning rota will be in place
• Sanitising stations will be available around clubs to keep hands clean before touching bingo equipment or machines which players will be encouraged to make use of
• Contactless card payments will be increased up to the value of £45
• There will be a number of changes to the menu and the way food is served to ensure kitchen staff are able to work socially distanced
• Changes to food and alcohol purchase meaning that alcohol can only be purchased with a full meal
• Continued personal support for all customers – extending the Buzz Buddies support offered in lockdown for elderly and vulnerable customers

At this point, Buzz Bingo clubs along with all other bingo clubs in tier 3 areas, remain closed.
