The popular bingo venue, a local favourite for over 22 years, has been completely transformed to offer two bingo experiences under one roof—a smart move in an industry that’s been working hard to reinvent itself.
Two Vibes, One Roof
So what’s new? BJ’s has cleverly split the venue into two distinct areas. First up is the Bingo Lounge, a fun, relaxed space where you can chat with mates, grab a bite to eat, and enjoy bingo without whispering like you're in a library. Then there’s the more traditional Bingo Hall, perfect for players who like their games focused and quiet.
Opening night was a proper party. Guests were greeted with bubbly, chocolates, and even a performance from Britain’s Got Talent’s Gamal John. Not bad for a Friday night in Leigh! MP Jo Platt was on hand to cut the ribbon and praised the club’s role in creating jobs and bringing the community together.
A Bingo Club with History
BJ’s Bingo Leigh opened back in the early 2000s, taking over a former cinema building. It quickly became one of the town’s go-to entertainment spots—and it's been a big part of the community ever since.
BJ’s itself is a proudly independent bingo brand, with clubs in Birmingham and Reading too. Known for keeping things affordable, friendly, and fun, the company has steadily built a loyal following—especially important at a time when other venues have closed their doors.
Back and Better Than Ever
Speaking about the reopening, General Manager Andrew Tattershall said:
“We’ve created something really special here—a place for everyone, whether you’re after a quiet game or a fun night out with friends.”
And we’ve got to agree. In a world where high streets are struggling and social spots are disappearing, this investment in Leigh feels like a real win for the community.
At BingoDaily, we love seeing bingo clubs stepping up their game—literally.
Welcome back, BJ’s Leigh—long may the numbers roll! 👏
