This week saw some UK bingo sites start to remove the option for its customers to reverse any withdrawal requests made.

The decision to stop withdrawal reversals by Dragonfish games comes after the UKGC issued new guidelines amid fears of problem gambling during the Coronavirus pandemic lockdown.

The stopping of withdrawal reversals was one of a number of guidelines aimed at protecting problem gamblers in the extended lockdown period. As well as the withdrawal reversal which is a temporary measure at this point, gambling operators will be obligated to make contact with gamblers after one hour.

Although no official date or timeline was set by the UKGC, UK bingo brands are expected to implement the guidelines sooner rather than later.

The decision by Dragonfish to stop withdrawal reversals makes them the largest operator to implement the changes.

Dragonfish bingo sites, many of which are considered some of the top-rated bingo sites in the UK, such as 888 Bingo, Kozmo Bingo, Sailor Bingo, Cracker Bingo and Hunky Bingo, started contacting their customers on Monday 25th May to advise them that they will no longer be able to reverse any withdrawal requests.

The email seen by the BingoDaily team describes the changes as being part of a “regulatory requirement to be applied across the gaming industry.”

The email went on to explain that once a customer has made a withdrawal request, “it will be processed in accordance with the Withdrawal Policy and cannot be reversed”.

All eyes will be on other UK bingo sites to see when rather than if they follow suit and cancel the option of reversing withdrawal requests.
