Topping the bingo news this week was the story of one lucky dabber who walked away from his local Mecca Bingo in Wrexham £50,000 richer. The gentleman who wishes to remain anonymous scooped the National Game Bingo Jackpot after enjoying an evening with friends at the Wrexham Mecca Bingo where he had been frequenting for more than two decades when the evening took a turn for the better as all his numbers came up.
The life-changing win wasn’t his first big there, however, as he previously £28,000 at the same bingo venue nearly 30 years ago.
The delighted dabber said:
“I was so overwhelmed when I realised I had won the jackpot.
“I’ve been playing at the club forever – it’s a fantastic place.
“It was such an exciting experience, the club was buzzing and everyone cheered and congratulated me.”
The two-time jackpot winner now intends to spend some of the money treating himself to a holiday in Blackpool (maybe in time for the Blackpool MeccaFest) and a new, more manageable car.
The general manager at Mecca Bingo Wrexham said of the win:
“It’s such a fantastic moment when someone calls house on the National Bingo Game.
“We’re absolutely thrilled for the winner, £50,000 is an incredible prize amount.
“The atmosphere in club was brilliant, it’s a pleasure to see someone win big – we’re delighted.”
