The votes have been counted and the results are in. The Bingo news you've all been waiting for. Following a nationwide search, a winner has been announced in the highly competitive ‘Host of the Year’ competition run by Mecca Bingo.
After whittling down the number from hundreds to just five regional representatives, voting in the Host of the Year competition ended at the end of September. The final five represented Mecca Bingo Brierly Hill, Mecca Bingo Doncaster, Mecca Bingo Wood Green, Mecca Bingo Wrexham and Mecca Bingo Beeston with some experienced bingo hosts among the finalists. However, after bingo fans voted by commenting on the competition post for their favourite, Jason Davies, host for Mecca Bingo Wrexham, was announced as the winner of Mecca’s ‘Host of the Year’ competition.
Jason has been a bingo caller at Mecca Bingo Wrexham for two years and built up a loyal fanbase. On Jason's evenings off he calls charity family fun bingo in the local pub.
The popular caller will now proceed as Mecca’s frontman in the National Game’s Caller of the Year 2019 competition on 24th November. Jason will face callers from across the whole of the UK bingo scene, in pursuit of the National Game Caller of the Year 2019 title and the £1,000 cash prize.
The General Manager of Mecca Bingo Wrexham said of Jason's win:
“We are so thrilled to be able to announce that our very own Jason Davies has won the public’s vote to become Mecca’s ‘Host of the Year’.
“We’re confident that our loyal customers will continue to support him through his journey in the National Game Caller of the Year 2019 competition, too.”
